Khan Academy – a free education treasure trove

Khan Academy (khanacademy.org) brings a whole new dimension to free educational math tools. It’s a huge compilation of high-quality video tutorials by reputable instructors on subjects for kids in middle school, through high school, and even into college. If your child is in any of these grades, or even younger, this is definitely a site to become familiar with as soon as possible, because it can act as an interactive reference through many years of your child’s intellectual development. The site boasts more than 141,600,000 lessons and continues to grow.

FCAT season is upon us!!

It’s that time of year again in the Florida educational system — time for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Tests (FCAT). Although there’s always controversy as to whether or not there’s too much emphasis put on the results and too much stress put on youngsters, there’s no disputing the fact that the tests are a requirement and we all want our kids to do well on them.
